Our Vehicle Export Process, Step by Step

Eight steps from your first inquiry to delivery at your destination port — sourcing, inspection, payment, freight and documentation.

Buying and importing vehicles from the United States follows a clear path. Here is how an order moves from first contact to delivery at your port — the same process our Latin American clients rely on.

1. Send us your requirements

Tell us the make, model, model year, series and quantity you need — trucks, trailers, SUVs or minivans — plus your destination port or border crossing. Email trucks@exports-r-us.com for trucks and trailers or autos@exports-r-us.com for passenger vehicles.

2. We source the vehicles

Our in-house purchasing team works its network of transportation companies, wholesale dealers, bankruptcy leads and repossession auctions, and attends Adesa and Manheim auctions weekly, to locate units that meet our quality standards.

3. Inspection and quote

Each candidate vehicle passes our stringent inspection program. You receive an EXW wholesale quote — with letter of credit pricing available on request — plus estimated land and ocean freight at cost.

4. Payment

Pay by cash in advance or open an irrevocable letter of credit payable against shipping documentation. We do not handle consignment sales, documentary drafts or sight LCs.

5. Land freight to the port

We deliver vehicles to your port of embarkation — typically Port Everglades, FL — or to the U.S.–Mexico border. Land freight and insurance typically run $250–$400 per vehicle depending on distance.

6. Ocean freight

RO-RO or containerized ocean freight moves the vehicles to your destination port. As a reference, RO-RO to Callao, Peru runs about $900 per vehicle (up to 599 cubic feet), plus $100 freight forwarder fees and $50 bill of lading per shipment.

7. Documentation

We prepare the bill of lading and shipping documentation; certificates such as inspection certificates or certificates of origin are arranged at the buyer's cost. Our prices include no document preparation charges.

8. Delivery and follow-up

Vehicles arrive at your port ready for customs clearance. We stay in touch — our periodic client visits across the U.S. and Latin America are part of how we do business.

Typical timing depends on vehicle availability and your payment method. Start today by contacting our sales team — and see our payment terms and freight options in detail.
